Directv allowed my roommate to extend MY contract without my permission.  I realized that he ordered DVR, and he said he would pay the extra $6 a month.  I was never once told that it was a two year commitment.  Now I tried to cancel the service when I moved out, which was two years after I orginally signed up for the service, but they told me that the contract had been extended.  Now they won't let me cancel the subsciption without an early terminaiton fee, and they won't reimburce me for any of the months that I paid for after I told them I wanted it canceled.  It was automatic billing from my credit card, and I did not realize I was still getting charged!



Did this happen to anyone else?  Do you know what I can do?  They said I have to write a letter to their billing dispute department.  I'm anticipating that it will come back in the negative.



How can they let someone extend my contract that wasn't me.  It's one thing if it happened, and as soon as I called they realized that it wasn't me and they let me back into my old contract.  But no, they are somehow trying to say its my fault!  Are you kidding me?!  How is it my fault, when it wasn't me.
