directv is a bunch of liars.

I cancelled my programming with them and 6 months later they sent me a bill and said I owed over $200.

I cancelled my programming and they lady rep said I owed no more money and that my service was cut off.

about 6 months later I received a bill in the mail and Directv said I owed them over $200.

I refused to pay and a few weeks later I received a call from a collector and I told him I owed nothing and I was not going to pay.

Directv sent my name in to the credit bureau.

I will never pay this bill because I owe nothing and I dont understand how they can turn me in.

has anyone else had a simaliar problem with Directv?

I dont want to sound like i know why you were charged $200 but the most i could tell you why most people are charged a fee similar to this. Normally it is and early cancelation fee due to some sort of commitment. Directv has alot of different programs that require a 1 year programming commitment. Like i said i have no idea what your personal situation is but what i suggest would be to call the sales and billing dept to find out exactly why you were charged this fee if you havnt already done that. They should be able to help you out and work something out to help.
