From the email you added they suspended the service for 6 months. and then reactivated it. Did you think since I can't have DirectTV maybe I should just cancel the service?

I was charge three months for service I never received. I phoned customer service in August 2005 and was told it is unfortunate but I have to pay regardless. I never had the dish at the address they are charging me for. Furthermore, I was not living at the address at time of charges. I wrote the company and never heard anything from them. Now they have placed the account in collection. Direct TV's Response at BBS: Initial Response - Posted 12-19-2005 We apologize for the misunderstanding. We show that on November 20, 2004 you contacted DIRECTV in regards to moving at the time we explained we had a moving program that made it very easy to transfer service. You stated that you would use movers program once you were ready in the meantime you suspended your account from November 29, 2004 to May 1, 2005. On May 1 service was reactivated automatically as we had told you it would and billing began again for service. When you contacted us on August 15, 2005 we agreed to disconnect account and issue credit for 30 days of service as a courtesy you accepted offer. Remaining charges are valid and will remain on account until paid we already issued credit that was accepted by you no further credit will be applied to your account. The balance now on account is $78.90 and will need to be paid for the account to be removed from collections. Initial Response Summary You stated that you would use movers program once you were ready in the meantime you suspended your account from November 29, 2004 to May 1, 2005. I did not agree to anything. After talking with customer service, I tried to contact the company by mail. They chose to ignore me. If I did not get the service in my new apartment because the property owner did not want them defacing their property why would I tell them to start billing me in May at the same property. I moved out with my parents, I still had no need for their service at that time. This is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with.
