Discount Tire Do you want Rims with that? - Lied about Safety Los Lunas New Mexico
Have bought many sets of tires from the Los Lunas New Mexico store. BMW 840i, 530i, M3, trucks, Shelby GT 500 - lots of high performance cars. Put a new set of the best I can get tires on my truck. Told by the manager 6 months later on a balance that one of my stock rims is bent - DT manager solution, buy a new set of rims. I declined.
12 months later show up for a balance and rotation with - a new rim. Offered credit on the new rim if I buy after market rims from DT. I declined. 30 minutes later - truck is done but rim not changed out. Manager says "No bent rims on truck."
Either Discount Tire lied to me the first time saying the rim was bent, or, Discount Tire Los Lunas can't tell a bent rim from a straight one.
Either way, I am going back to Tire Rack and my local installer. They don't try to turn every tire problem into "Do you want rims with that?" I don't want rims with that, I want an installer that I can trust. Down one tank of gas and a rim I never needed.
