I placed an order for a Chevy Van seatbelt on April 26th. On May 11th I emailed for a tracking number but heard nothing back. I then called and was told it would be yet another 2-3 weeks, with no prior notification that it was backordered at all. It's now July 2nd and there has still been no word, though we paid for the order on 4/26. I tried to cancel the order back in May, but was told there would be a 30% cancellation fee, which the gentleman said was clearly stated on his website. (NOTE: I just went back to his site and to my receipt and found absolutely no mention of any policies at all. I even tried a mock order and got all the way to entering a credit card and was still not shown any order policies.) However, rather than take this up directly with the Credit Card company, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited until now (an additional 4 weeks - total of almost 10 weeks) for the order to be fulfilled. Still nothing. He holds firm that his "policy" for all cancellations is a 30% fee. I find that immoral and pathetic after waiting for over two months for something - esp. considering there was no attempt whatsoever to inform me at the time of purchase or thereafter, that there was even the potential of a backorder, nor any other communication at all - And that there is no mention of said policy anywhere on his site.
I took it up with the BBB and will be rejecting the charge with my CC company.
