Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
On December 18, 2010 I signed up with Dish Network due to a pomo flier I received on my door. Before signing I spoke to a sales rep. who assured me I could do a one year contract to test it out and see if I liked the service and would pay $29.99 / mo. Installation came soon after I paid the non-refundable installation deposit, which the tech. again informed me ( Andre Ramirez ) that I was signing for a one year contract and that I had to sign it digitally and they would later email/mail it to me since they do not provide copies at the moment you sign. The whold situation was suspicious to me because I do not like signing anything unless I get a carbon copy at that moment and I should have gone with my better judgement regarding that moment.

After many months of service a situation arose where we were behind and the service had to be disconnected. Once I acquired the payment I contacted them immediately to pay for restoration, their customer service rep. stated to me that my payment would be 59.99 because my contract had reached its term and to continue I would have to pay the non-promotional amount since I was no longer a new customer. Mind you it was October and not even a year had passed, I argued with the rep. that his records were inaccurate and that I am only to pay $29.99 a month per the existing year promo. He put me on hold several times to reaffirm his statements with me and to make sure he wasn't making and error situation.

After an hour long phone conversation he reaffirmed that I was expired and that I would have to pay $59.99 a mo. from now on since my promo. contract had expired. I told him that my husband and I were interested in starting with Cox and hadn't done so yet because we were waiting for our contract with them to expire so this was our opportunity so not to renew us. He told me that as long as I returned the equipment I would owe nothing to Dish Network. A month later I received a box to mail back the equipment as requested. Soon after I received a bill for Early Cancellation Fee!!! What on Earth......we called them and they stated I had signed a two year, why on earth would I do that!

I told them that I wanted a copy of the electronic copy I signed and just received it, I feel they digitally placed my signature on a 2 year contract. They took dvantage of my trust, bait and switched me with buying a one year and telling me it expired then turn around claiming I signed a 2 year! I want the Early Termination Fee taken off and no further collection actions taken from them, they have obviously lied to me and are attempting to collect funds that were never owed to them! Do Not Trust them or even consider them for service, they are a scam and their service was lousy! I only signed up for a one year to test out if they were serviceable in my area and we only planned on living at that residence for one year....why on earth would I sign a 2 year?!

The contract's have been two years for a while now. Never take anyones word . Always read before you sign.  I don't know how important ESPN is to you. But Cox is considering dropping ESPN from their lineup and replacing it with some other sports channel. Don't really know if they will really do it. But will just have to wait and see.
