Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My wife and I had Dish Netork television for almost 2 years.  Our first bad experience took place when we upgraded from 2 televisions to 3.  Dish network in (my area atleast) outsource thier tech jobs to local companies.  The tech who did the upgrade walked through my house arguing with his girlfriend the entire time, but the TV worked so I was satisfied, that is until later that night when the wind blew and I heard a slapping noise on the side of my house. I went outside and realized that rather then drill a hole and run the wires through the crawlspace of the house he ran all the wires outside and wrapped them half way around the exterior of my house.  We called Dish and complained after an argument they agreed to send someone else out to fix it, free of charge.  Two weeks later another tech arrived he looked over the job and said he would fix it but wanted me to give him $90 first.  After arguing with him I eventualy called dish network and put him on the phone.  He then did a nice job on running the wires but wouldn't leave, he insisted that I tip him $20.  After at least 10 minutes of this I gave him $10 to get him to leave.

Last week I stopped recieving a signal at night, but it would work again the following morning, this went on for a few days before we called and complained.  They told us that if we wanted the service to work at night again it would cast an additional one time $95.  They told me that the loss of service had absolutely nothing to do with anything on our part but it would still cost us $95.  Our other option was to cancel our contract for $90. So I went with the cheaper of the two options and am so glad to be rid of that company.

I almost feel bad for the customer service people you can tell that they want to help you (some of them) they just arn't aload to do anything for you.  But don't waste your time asking for a superviser, the higher up the chain you go the ruder they get.

Hello! This is Dan Busa with DISH Network customer service. I would like to apologize on behalf of DISH for your experience, and ensure you this is an atypical issue. I feel there were better alternatives to some ofthe issues you faced, we could have requested a DISH certified technician if one was available in your area. We could have spoken to the hub office and filed a complaint for the contractor who asked for a tip. In either case I just want to convey that we do take customer service very seriously here, and I hope one day we will enjoy having you back as a subscriber again.
