Thru AT&T, I had elected to bundle my services - This included Dish Network to become my cable service. On June 14th, 2008 an installer from DNS L.L.C., Calhoun Depot, Calhoun, GA a contractor for Dish arrived at my home to make the installation. Since on two prior occassions, the correct equipment or the installer did not show up - when the installer arrived, my husband asked him if he had the correct equipment. He went out to his truck, came back in and said he had all that was required for our install.

He went outside to our backyard and in about half an hour he came back in, requesting "where on our property could he get some dirt"? I asked him why and he said he needed to cover the 75' long cable he had to install. I told him that he would have to bury the cable 12" according to code, that the first rain the dirt would wash away, as I am on a hill, and if not burried , it was a safety hazard. He did not have any trenching items, shovel, pick, etc., we had to find some for him to use.

After spending 3 hours outside digging a trench, in 90 degree weather, when the installer came in, he was very very annoyed. He then goes behind my TV and starts pulling wires and making adjustments, and heaven knows what else he was doing back there for over 10 minutes. My husband and I just thought he was doing what was needed to hook up our service.

After 10 minutes steps back around from behind the TV and informs us "he can not make the installation - that he does not have the needed equipment". My husband and I cannot believe it. He then calls his supervisor and puts him on the phone with me. His supervisor tells me that there is no way I could get the service that I was requesting for the price quoted me by AT&T -and that if I wanted him to make the install today I would have to agree to an additional charge of $14.00 per month. I said that this was extortion.

The installer tells my husband that since we are refussing installation there will be a $180.00 service fee. My husband tells him to get the hell out of his house and since we are going to be charged a fee for nothing, that he cannot take the two boxes that he brought into the house.

The installer leaves, and 30 minutes later he is back at my home with the police. He has filed a report that my husband Hit him, cursed him and threatened him. There is another 8 pages I can go into but for times sake I will jump forward. Needlessto say, my husband and I were humilated and embarresed. What was worse, he had cut my previous service lines and we had no TV. When we finally got service restored via Direct TV, I found that the installer, while behind my TV earlier had broken my TV and my Sound system and DVD player.

When trying to deal with the Dish people, they have been nothing but rude and at one point inferred that I was untruthful and that I was only one customer - they have millions. All I want is a new TV, Sound System, and DVD - I just want to be made whole, the way I was before they sent this person into my home. It has taken weeks and weeks to even get call backs and when they do call they talk down to me and make me feel that they are doing me a favor by even talking with me. It has been a struggle.

Today when I spoke with them and told them that I was recording the conversation - as everytime I talk with them, things change , and they say I didn't get it right, their representative said he wouldn't talk with me if I recorded the conversation. He Said I would have to get a lawyer and talk with their legal dept. I asked him for the number of their legal dept, he laughed, said he was closing my file, and hung up on me.

If there is anyone out there that can help me in any way, who knows how to get in touch with their legal dept., or their president Mr. Charlie Ergen, or can offer any means of assistance - I am begging for your help.

Seeing that you wasted the installers time by cancelling when he was halfway through the installation, and then when you refused to give the installer back the equipment that was never installed I can see why he came back with the police. The installer is responcible for the equipment, you basically stole from him when you refused to let him leave with it. Not saying it was right for him to file a false police report, but I would have probably have done the same thing being in his situation where a customer told me to get out of their house and stole my equipment.
