I signed up for dish network and constantly had to deal with bad custoer service they were always telling me one thing then doing another. The picture was fuzzy on my downstairs t.v. and they sent a tech to come fix it and he told me it was my t.v and there was nothing they could do. When I called them back to tell them this they had no record of me ever complaining.

When they installed the dish, they told me there wouldnt be an installation fee, they sent an incompetent 3rd party contractor, who caused damage to my house by drilling uneccesary holes into the foundation of my house when the house was already cable ready. Then they put an unauthorized charge of $50 on my credit card for the installation which they said there would be no charge for, I had to spend an hour on the phone 3-way with dish network and the third party company to get the charge reversed. He also drilled to hang cables all over the outside of the house with screws all drilled into the brick (a real eye sore) Its impossible for me to get the screws out of the brick and take it down. They refuse to take it down after I cancelled my account.

On a Tuesday aug 31 I had a payment arrangement set up and they shut off my service the prior Sunday saying there never was an arrangement made and that I was "dillusional". They forced me to pay them on a Sunday when the bank was closed to get my service back on. When they signed me up they told me I would get 2 dvr's and they only gave me one telling me they once again never said that. They are more trouble than its worth and will lie to you. The picture is horrible and when it rains or snows forget about watching t.v altogether. I have never been treated so bad or had something so aweful that I had to pay for. Now they want me to pay them a $255 cancellation fee, I am trying to dispute it, but I would rather pay it than keep their crap.

They promised I would get all these great channels for a low price then after a month they jack up the price they told me I'd have it for a year. I did get 200 channels but most of them were infomercials! I went back to comcast, they are a million times better than dish. I honestly dont know how dish network stays in business.

As I was googling to file a complain myself about the practices used by Dish Network to get your business then basically lie over and over as your payment continues to go up.  I honestly think they train their employees to either act dumb or they get the complaint so often that the company has brainwashed them otherwise I do not know how someone with any morals at all could work with a company that operates in this way.  To back up my comment I came across thousands of complaints of the same nature regarding this company as well as a lawsuit, I guess the lawsuit against Dish Network did not do any good!! they are still doing the same shady thing.  Funny how the employee of Dish only addressed the holes placed by the third party installer.. that is common for them.. they ignore the whole billing thing but think they have validity to bash the third party installing their equipment and probally dont even get paid much except for the installation fee.  In any regard I cut and pasted part of the posting of the lawsuits and complaints with the better business bureu. See below..

Among the complaints filed with the state and the BBB regarding the Dish Network: Dish and its authorized retailers would offer big packages with discounts for a two-year commitment from consumers and then boost the price and/or reduce service. Consumers who then wanted to cancel their service were told they would face hundreds of dollars in cancellation penalties. Dish also was accused of drawing payment from customers' bank accounts and credit cards without proper warning or authorization and violating Do-Not-Call telemarketing laws. Also, customers complained they were not informed that their premium sports packages were subject to blackout and that they might not receive their local TV stations.

Hello there. I just wanted to shed some light on your post here, and help you out. With the installation fee, because your account was signed up through a sales partner, or authorized retailer, they were the ones to charge that $50. That is why you saw that charge, and had to 3-way with the 3rd party and DISH. I am sorry that there was damage left to your house. You could file a damage claim with the 3rd party. If your signal was constantly going out, a technician would have been best, because it sounds like an alignment issue. I am sorry for the frustrations, and I hope that this helps explain what what was happening.
