I signed up for Dish Network in May of 2008 and utilized their TV service till Oct of 2008. At that time, I notifed customer service that I was moving to Mooresville, NC 28115 until May of 2009 and what could I do with my Dish Network service until I returned in May. The gentleman I talked to informed me that he would set my account up so that I would be able to pay everything up at that time and I would not be billed till May of 2009 when my service would be automatically be turned back on. I paid the bill and was comfortable that I was good till May of 2009.

In early Nov of 2008 I received a bill and called (Cindy) Dish Network and questioned the bill. I was informed by billing that the person who set up my account in Oct had not set it up properly and that I would have to pay additional monies. I was informed that if I paid $26.42 that my account would be paid up in full till May of 2009 and my service would automatically be turned on 1 May 2008. I paid the bill and was insured by Cindy that I would not receive any future bills untill 2009.

In late Nov 2008 I received another bill and called Dish Network and asked for clarification on the new bill and that I thought I would not receive any billing till May of 2009. I was informed by billing that whoever set up the account in Nov had not set it up properly and that I would have to pay $21.95 the basic service each month until May of 2009. I was extremely unhappy and decided to send an email with all of the imformation and that I would like upper management to review and make a determination on my account. I sent two reports and did not receive a repy.

On the 27th of Nov 2008 I called Dish Network and asked to speak to a supervisor, when he came on line, he did not sound American so I asked him where he was located. He informed me he was in the Phillipines, I then asked to speak to someone from the United States and he transferred me to Melissa in Texas, ( she would not tell me what city she was located), and I explained the situation to her with all the detals. Previous to relating the information, I asked her if she could record the call and she said that it was not possible.

She reported to me that if I paid $10.00 a month for Dec through April, that my account would be up to date and I would receive no future billing until May of 2009. In my estimation this whole thing has been handled in an unprofessional manner, and that I was lied to, given misinformation and basically jerked around. If I could have cancelled the service I would have cancelled it at that time. My dilema is that my receiver is in NY and to cancel you must send in the receiver. Which I could not do until I returned to NY, which I will not do until May of 2009.
