I booked reservations at the resort at Disney World For the week after Christmas.  They really take advantage of you during this time by doubling the cost of rooms.  Almost $500 a night for only the moderate rooms.  I considered staying off site or downgrading the room but the Disney World reservation person told me that there would be promo discounts but he would not know the amount until a few months before.  We were making reservations over eight months prior to our stay.  He said rates could come down over 30% which would bring the room to a little more reasonable rate.  So I booked and today is November 10th and the balance is due in two days.  I called to find out the discount amount and they tell me no discounts.  The week before and after but not my week.  When making the reservations I had asked the person at least three times and he reassured me that there would be discounts but he could not confirm the exact amount.  I feel scammed!  I asked the person that I spoke to today whether the original Disney booking agent was on commission.  She did confirm that it is a sales position.  I feel that this person purposely deceived me in order to close the sale.  Now I am in a bad position of changing the room (I have already been showing the themed room to my daughter) to an economy room, stay offsite or just suck it up and pay an extra grand.  Disney’s customer service was no help.  Already regretting this vacation decision and the final money is due in two days.

Did you reserach this? The Christmas holiday period at WDW is prime time, there are no discounts they usullay have more bookings and vistors then they can hadnle. The week betwen Christmas and New Years is the most busiest. I should know having done it for 30 years and now I live close by (I stay away fromWDW during the holdays) and a Disney vacation club memeber. Any basic research will bear this out. However, if you felt mislead... I striongly suggest you write and/or call Disney Parks management - they take this feedback usually quite seriously.
