My story is the same as the others I've read on here. I was approached by two young guys at a gas station in a "pimped-out" Chevy Suburban. They said they worked for a wholesaler in Romulus, Michigan. They were making deliveries in my area and the supplier loaded an extra system. They didn't want to give it back and wanted to make a buck.

I told them that I didn't need one. They insisted that I purchase this high-end system at such a cheap price so that they didn't have to give it back to their boss. I refused to pay $500, so they asked for $400. I still refused and got back in my car. After starting my car, one ran over and asked that I only give them $100 a piece. They didn't have time to find anyone else to ask, so they had to accept whatever I could offer so that they could get back to work. A high-end system for $200, I gave in.

I got home and opened the package, only to find out that they were speakers only. The system required not only a receiver, but an amplifier as well. The 200+ Watt subs weren't even self-powered. I hooked two of the cube speakers up to my current reciever, (without the subs and center that came with it) and believe it or not, it sounded pretty good.

I haven't used them for anything other than that test, so I can't say for sure that the speakers are junk, but I should have been more cautious of such a shady deal to start with.
