The employee in question did 13 demonstrations in the required time and had report sheets and customer statements to prove it. The people he did demos for were who were willing to verify he did the demos and called into the office while he was in their homes. I personally know he spoke very highly of the company and loved the job. He never badmouthed the company to me or anyone else inmy presence. As a matter of fact he was always trying to drumb up business for them. There was no problems until the company let everyone go who they had hired with him and he was the last to go. They told everyone they were going bankrupt and could not even afford to pay them. I can verify from a conversation with the manager that he told me they were going Bankruprt because I was in the process of making a purchase but did not go along with giving out my back account numbers to a company that was going out of business, plus I wanted a new machine not a usedone or a demo. The manager was very rude to me and hung up on me and I had company in my house at the time who were shocked at the way this man spoke to a customer and his rude behavior. A few days after fireing everyone in the group my friend was hired with D.K. advertized in the Providence Journal for a new dealer staff. It is obvious they never intended to go bankrupt and as many other rip off reports regarding Kirby related companys show these distributorships are not run by the most trustworthy people in the country and often fail to pay dealers and chaet customers--just look at other rip off reports about Kirby and let the truth shine through.

Here is our actual pay plan for our independant dealers. $500/week for performing 13 presentations or $160/A-loan sale and a bonus of $100 for every 2 sales made in a week. Whatever comes out as the greater amount. The person stated in the report performed a total of 9 presentations for the week and made one A-loan sale. The sale that he made was actually to himself as he decided to purchase the demo Kirby that he used. This would result in a paycheck of $160 because he had not completed 13 presentations. He was paid $160. The dealer was terminated for a couple reasons. We were at a slow period at the time and were forced to keep only our most productive staff. Also, the dealer displayed a very untrustworthy character by badmouthing our company to other dealers while he was here and not being truthful about what he was accomplishing in his presentations. And if our company was telling people that we were going bankrupt, how could we maintain a successful staff that has been here for months? As for selling demo Kirbys, we absolutely do sell demo Kirbys to customers. They are sold at a discounted prices to make it more affordable to the customer and still come with a full factory 3 year warranty just like an untouched brand new one out of the box. At no point do we ever claim that these demos are new. Just like demo unit that this dealer purchased, he recieved a very low price on it because it was his demo and he still recieved a $160 commission on his own sale. Kirby is an excellent company to work for and has provided me a good income for seven years. This is not a get rich quick company by any means however, and just like any other direct sales company you get what you put in. If the dealer works hard and smart he can make a great living from it. He also may not make money if he does not, that is just the nature of the business.
