DMC (Dynamic Marketing Concepts) is a dance-on-the-gray line questionable company.  One can ony look as far as the internet for validation.  I took it further, I spoke to someone who went through the hiring process -- this lasted one day.

Real people in business know shaky operators, DMC is one of them based on the data that I've received.

Look at their website, no details.  The site is a front with, a must say, a hot little staff.

I'm not saying the most of the DMC employees are scum.  I believe the president to a be a scum bag.

I was contacted very recently by DMC Atlanta to come in for an interview and was interested in finding out more about the company. I found it interesting that while coming to the rescue for the name of the company, one of employees defined ponzi scheme and explained that the was the farthest things from it, I found that slightly sketch but continued on. Then I came to the extremely patronising and condescending "Clever". I'm not sure if he was drinking in 2011or if he is just oblivious but that post might have broken the internet for being so obnoxious. Clever, just because you end the note wishing someone well doesn't mean you can fool even the dumbest souls that your not a jerk. After reading that post I could feel the toxix radiation from DMC ATL outside the perimeter. I guess ripoffreport can thank you though, that comment was so unbearable I had to create an account just to tell you.

Also add MGA Business Consulting in Phoenix, AZ to this. These two companies are related and are both from the Cydcor and DS-Max family of companies all with a very similar setup preying on young, ambitious (albeit naive), young professionals.

Don't fall for them. Do your reseach.

Are we talking about the same company?

I worked for them, too... and I did not see any of this. At all. While the people were great, the "hands on training" provided is really just teaching people how to manipulative and sneaky. They are training you to walk into a business uninvited (which is rude in and of itself) and try to force office supplies (which NOBODY wants) down very busy, business owners' throats. And on top of everything, they want you to drive around on your own dime AND pay you only commission? I was spending more than $200/wk on gas when I worked there, not to mention I needed to get my oil changed every month. Again I will say that the people are great, but let's be honest... this "job" is a joke. I quit this job to work for minimum wage at a coffee place until I found the great job in my field that I have now. I made more money working 30 hrs a week at $7.45 an hour than I did the entire time I worked for DMC.

What A Joke

On the surface, this company seems great. And I have nothing against the people who work there, they are all very nice and welcoming. However, this job is a total scam.

They hired me right out of school and made huge promises, including salary level and the actual work I would be doing. Turns out, the salary is all commission, and the work is driving around all day going to literally every business you pass, and walking in and trying to sell them things (for me, it was office supplies). You have to pay for your own gas, you get no benefits, and the training period is completely unpaid.

They like to scoop up recent college grads with little or no experience because they don't know any better. The interview process is a joke (after 45 minutes I GUARANTEE they will offer you a job). They hire pretty girls and smooth-talking men - this is their main strategy in selling the products they offer! However, Cindy Crawford would have trouble walking into a car dealership and trying to sell them $1000 worth of paper and pens.

I felt compelled to post this because accepting this job ended up setting me back months and months, months I could have spent doing a worthwhile internship or interviewing for a real job. This is a warning for all recent college grads looking into this company: Please, please, PLEASE to not accept this job, no matter how great they make it seem. You will be disappointed (and broke!) at the end of the day.

Not True

The only reason why you say that is because you STILL work there.  It is a scam... true indeed.  I just left the interview a few moments ago!

sales in general

I never post anything on these blogs for many reasons. Sales is a tough business period. Nothing happens until a sale is made, and certainly businesses would not be in open if there were not sales people making sales. I recently interviewed with them and could not say one derogatory thing about anyone I met. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at the enthusiasm within the office. Door to door sales is brutal, but when we were out we encountered friendly business men and women that appreciated what we were doing. Those that bash companies like this do not appreciate that sales people have strong type A personalities, and that this comes naturally. In sales you create your own job security. Not like a support position that expects a check at the end of the week (which comes from someone's sale I might add.) But this is not meant to be negative. I think Nic or whatever his name is that posted on another board said it best: he wasn't good at selling.
It doesn't really matter what flavor of sales one is doing, it is all the same. It is all door to door in some form and fashion. More importantly there are companies out there doing things ethically. If DMC Atlanta is not a place for you to work then go about your way and do not criticize how others make a great living and enjoy their life. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that opinion might be skewed or worse, met with a harsh response. You should find a nice support position that relies on an account executive to make sales and bring in business so you can receive a check at the end of the week-that's all I'm saying. Nothing happens until a sale is made-nothing.

I have an interview with them next week and was very please when I spoke to Jenna today. She was professional, explained the job to me gave me directions to their office and  was courteous.

I am not sure what problems you could possibly have going through job interview but most take several hours due to testing. This is marketing company and it clearly stated so on the website.

The Truth

#9UPDATE EX-employee responds

Thu, September 23, 2010

The truth about DMC is that they are a very well managed company! Their hiring staff and upper manager are great people looking to help others with their opportunity. I know this because I worked for DMC Atlanta.

The reason why you can't find a whole lot about them online is because they are such a great company and a lot of people enjoy/enjoyed working for them, so there is never a bad thing to say. The hiring process is actually long and time consuming. They need to make sure the right people are hired and put the opportunity in the right persons' hands. If they don't call you back after the 1st interview, that means they don't feel you are the best fit for the position. It's nothing personal, it's life and sales and marketing are not everyone's cup of tea, if you know what I mean.

The is nothing "shaky" about the operators of this company. They are highly credited and their clients are Fortune 500 clients. Why would they have these clients if they felt they wouldn't do them right!! "Shaky" operators are people who lead you to believe that they are something they really aren't.
Copied directly from the website in the FAQ's section: "Is it true that I have to do face to face sales at the entry level and account management positions? YES! and here's why: Sales is the basis of all business, and in order to truly understand business, you have to develop a deep understanding of sales. By training our people in face to face, direct sales and marketing, we prepare them to become major players in today's competitive businesses environment. 100% of our managing partners began at the entry level in sales and marketing, positioning them to understand and empathize with the day to day challenges of their associates and developing them to be effective managers."

This tells you exactly what we do and every word of it is true. People need to understand that talking bad about companies that don't deserve it is ridiculous and disrespectful. If you have never worked there, then you know nothing! I no longer work for the company due to circumstances that I could not work FULL TIME. But I know if I ever needed a FULL TIME job they would take me back, because those are the type of people that care about their employees!

Sincerely,

DMC in Dunwoody?

#10Consumer Comment

Thu, April 08, 2010

Is the DMC you're talking about the same one that is located in the Dunwoody area? I'm asking because I am about to graduate college and am on the job search, and DMC Atlanta contacted me a few days ago about coming in for an interview. I wanted to make sure I'm not wasting my time. Is there any more detail you can give about your report? The person you spoke to who went through the hiring process...what did they have to say about it?
