I never received registration renewal notice. When I received a notice, it's always been 2 months late. I am billed for 60% late fee.

I read on DMV website. They have disclaimer written extremely carefully that it is the owner's responsibility to contact DMV if you do not receive renewal notice 60 days PRIOR to the due date. Having said that, they can legally trap you by not sending you renewal notice. And that's why they had to disclaim extremely carefully because it's a planned homicide.

While President Obama banned credit card company to over-charge unreasonable and unrealistic late interest fees by commercial industry, he allows government to charge a ridiculous SIXTY PERCENT late fee.

I feel so pity that we are ripped off by our lawful government in a made "legal" way. If you do not pay the rocket high penalty, you will only be penalized more and if you still not pay, you can be put in jail. This is how our government is operating to help good citizens growing their economy. I feel so proud of our higher authority as they know how to make good use of power which is given by the powerless.

The President asked for more aggressive restrictions.

And as usual congress bowed to THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS AND WATERED IT DOWN TO THE POINT THE  BILL WAS VIRTUALLY USELESS TO YOU AND ME.

Its time to reform the politicians, not blame a Guy that is actually trying to do the right thing

It is the responsibility of the owner of a vehicle to keep the registration current. You do not need the renewal notice to renew your vehicle registration (if your address info is current) on California's DMV web site. Now you know.
