Being from out of state (Nevada), I dreaded transfering an auto over to my daughter who lived in Las Vegas. I was ready for a week of DMV lines and incorrect forms when my daughter suggested Rock's 76 Station where I could get the car smogged and DMV forms filed at the same time. Unbeleivable but great! On arrival to station, I was met and asked what services I needed. "All of it I guess". They had me pull into a narrow lane between buildings, was told to leave the key and another nice person escorted us into lobby where we would be more comfortable.
I told them I had to smog the vehicle to get the title and registration put in my daughter's name. I asked to see a brochure of their services and got the first red flag when I was told they didn't have a price list because costs varied from vehicle to vehicle. I was told I could expect to pay in the $250 area, sounded a little higher but agreeable to me, let's go. At that point my car was pulled in front of the building, smog passed and ready to go! Wow, impressive! I needed to pay that before proceeding, something about it being a seperate charge, another $29, hmmm, ok.
Then the car salesman routine kicked in. Many different levels of service and different time frames for filing and never a clear picture of costs 'till towards the end of the presentation. The services I needed would cost $403 dollars not including $29 already spent on smog. To top it off, they had a seperate page at the end to include TIP! For what?! A guy getting paid to do his job providing a costly service to a captive audience? Did I want to tip 40% or 20% or "0ther"? "Freakin' "other" baby, are you kidding me?!" Wow! Oh well, lesson learned and tranfer all taken care of.
A few hours later I get a call and was told my card holder delayed a payment at DMV to check with me first. They ( DMVMade Easy rep) said that it was ok, they covered the costs and would bill me back later. Two hours after we had left the station I get a call on my cell phone stating that because they had to use their own funds I needed to pay an additional service fee. $139 in-person or over-the-phone additional $6 processing fee! $145 more!! More than 30% of the entire bill!
Total cost of services more than $600 !! BUYER BEWARE !!!

Reason for decline of credit, company in question tried to make a DMV charge to my credit card using my name but their address as a billing address. I hope this wasn't intentional to get the huge penalty fee from me.
