I took my laptop into Doc Holliday's Pawn Shop located at 8228 Camp Bowie West Boulevard in Fort Worth, TX on June 17, 2013. I only needed gas money to get to an interview that day and my interview was 50 miles away. I told the Hispanic man at the counter that I would be in the very next morning after I got paid to get it back and he assured me "NOTHING" would be changed.

i am with Tmobile and because of an error in tmobile's system I have been able to use my prepaid device (which is an iphone 4) for Internet tethering because my device was never fully integrated in Tmobile's system. This was VERY important as I can't afford Internet right now and live far away from free wifi places.

The Hispanic man requested my administration password and I was curious why this was as one doesn't need this password to "scrub" the system. He could see my device worked perfectly well from the guest account. I have all my personal private pictures, documents, etc. under my administration account and told him but he assured me the computer would be locked up and no one would touch it.

Another major concern for me was the fact that Tmobile had come out with a new Iphone update which for a year now I had kept closing out without updating. This update screen popped up automatically whenever my computer connected to the Internet askiing for permission to update. I knew that if i updated I would forever lose the ability to TETHER which was very important to me and of course I never agreed to the update.

That night something told me to check the update because I had a feeling someone had gone into my computer "AGAIN" after I left. when I checked my phone settings had been changed. Forever altered and I had lost the ability to tether and a box popped up stating "your carrier settings were updated".

i knew I hadn't updated them and the only other place was the computer.

I called Apple and they confirmed my computer was updated. Of course I am furious. I have no money to pay for Internet connection. And I'm looking for work. Now my laptop is rendered useless in my home. Someone from Doc Holliday's Pawn Shop had gone into my computer, into my ADMIN ACCOUNT, AFTER I LEFT, and AFTER I had been told they would not and had simply updated my settings. Per Apple, my iTunes account had also been opened and personal info was accessed.

As my computer is still being paid on it should I have been returned "IN LIKE FORM" as I took it there. The Pawn shop also had no right to access personal, highly sensitive data AFTER they told me they wouldn't.

I am preparing to file suit against them.

i suggest to ALL- DO NOT USE DOC HOLLIDAY'S PAWN FOR LAPTOPS! THESE PEOPLE SNOOP ON YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND TAKE THE LIBERTY TO CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS. They have hurt me bad as now have forever lost the Internet. I get my computer out tomorrow morning and I have lost far more than the $50 they originally gave me.
