Dollar Rent A Car ripoff SHANNON AIRPORT IRELAND
My wife and I rented a "mid-sized" car from dollar thru Expedia. When we got to Ireland they said the VW Golf was a mid size car? However our two normal size bags would not fit in it? They told us we would have to upgrade... so we did.
We then were told that we should let them fill the tank that it would be a lot cheaper than outside the airport, we would learn later that we would fill it for 40 euro's not the 66 euro's we paid them?
We brought the car back a day earlier and instead of them crediting us a day they charged our checking acct a day... and when we tried to rectify the problem they actually charged another day? Counter persons were well versed on how to ripp you off, get you to upgrade, pay more for fuel.
Oh and whenever you call thier head office in Dublin they say that they cant get thru to Shannon.... how convenient.
Please do not rent a car from Dollar/Thrifty ever.
