Don Hannk of Custom Engines, LLC took my truck and $1200 down payment on an engine rebuild on February 10, 2016. He kept my truck for 22 days. I called every other day and he always said the same thing...it would be ready the next day. I work out of that truck so was unable to work for a month due to him keeping my truck so long.
I went to his place twice during the 22 days and the truck had never been touched. The third time I visited, the engine had been taken out but no other work done. I finally took some protection with me and kept him and his mechanics inside his fence from 3pm Wednesday afternoon until 2am Thursday morning, until they had my truck running again.
When I got the truck back, none of the electronics worked. They worked fine when I gave him the truck. I took it to another mechanic who found that Donald Hank and his crew put the engine in tilted against the wiring harness which burned out all of the wiring. It was just under $3,000 for another mechanic to fix the original damage plus the damage caused by Donald Hank. I also had to spend $350 on a new lightbar. The lightbar blew when the wires were burned out from the incorrectly installed wiring harness.
I have filed with DCA but they refuse to respond to me so I guess Donald Hank will continue to get away with pretending to be a mechanic and ripping decent hard-working people off.
