D.R. Horton Home Builders built our home and it was completed in February 2016. We closed on the home on February 29th, 2016, and have experienced more problems and issues than anyone should EVER have to face when purchasing a new home.
In an attempt to be brief and keep this from being as long as it could be, I will provide some basic points here:
Those items are simply provided to give some basic background as to what we have been facing since the day we closed on our home with D.R. Horton Home Builders.
The following are the major problems we are currently facing and do not seem to get any cooperation from D.R. Horton Home Builders in taking care of them:
These issues go on and on, and I have found numerous other individuals that have experienced the same issues with D.R. Horton, especially concerning the leaking roofs.

Yes, we bought the house brand new. We closed on February 29th, 2016. Yes, someone from the local office has come out, but not for the roof issue, with the exception of one of their warranty people with the engineer who did not conduct a full inspection, as I stated in my previous comment.
We are being treated wrong on this, it's proven defective materials or methods used during construction. D.R. Horton should be making this right; they are not, which is the motivation for my protesting, which I will continue for as long as necessary.
I'm a retired Navy Veteran, 100% disabled, and this was to be our last home. We should not have to go through 20 months of stress and anxiety just trying to get our house in the condition it should have been in before we closed. Things like roof leaks should not happen in that short of a period of time. It's simply wrong to treat any customer this way.

Did you buy the house brand new ?
How long of you lived in the house ?
Have you had someone from the corporate office come out and take a look at your house ?
I was told that you did some picketing I understand your first ration I’m going to be talking in about an hour from somebody from corporate and see what their side of the story is and see if there’s a way to resolve this issue for you. I would ask that you hold off on posting anything on the Internet. Give me a chance to see what I can do to find out what’s the best resolution for this
I totally understand where you’re coming from my wife and I have a house a few years ago that was brand new that nobody ever live there when we moved into it after a huge hard rain we discovered a major water leak by the front door fortunately for us we worked with the builder of the House and got the issue resolved if this picture that I have gets posted you’ll see in the left side of the front door of our old house where we had some major issues but the company that built the how’s work with me to resolve the issue so let’s work in a positive direction see what becomes of this

The bottom line is that the roof leaks occurred due to insufficient materials or methods used at the time of construction, as stated by my homeowner's indurance company, and the engineering firm they hired to inspect the roof.
D.R. Horton disagrees. They sent their engineer on October 11th, 2017, who only went on the roof. He stated that it must have been cause by wind blowing rain into the roof vents. He didn't even bother to look inside the attic to see where the leak was actually originating from. He then stated he would need to go back to his office and regroup to try and figure out what caused the leak.
The insurance company sent out an adjuster on October 12th, 2017, who found improper builder materials and methods, and they sent an independent engineer who found the exact same thing on October 13th, 2017.
Those are the facts. I have the reports, and D.R. Horton is simply saying they disagree with the insurance company, who conducted a much more thorough inspection than their own engineer, and simply doesn't want to make right what they have done incorrectly.

I live in the Trailmark subdivision in St. Augustine, FL. I will not post my address for security reasons, but D.R. Horton knows my address. My name is Roger Carman. That should provide sufficient information.

Numerous people from D.R. Horton are already aware of my complaint. In fact, the Chief Operating Officer for the North Florida Division is the person stating that they disagree with my Homeowners Insurance Company's findings, including their engineering report findings that clearly states, "The intrusion at the upslope portion of the roof vent is the result of deficient materials or methods used at the time of construction."
