Regarding Thermage, the operator has about 2 hours to use a tip before it expires. Hence, it is impossible to use an old tip. An audible sound indicates: a patient moves during the treatment (most common); improper tip temperature; inadequate tip pressure; or poor tip to skin contact. Patients notice results with one treatment, but we advise two sessions with a tummy tip (1200 pulses). This information is printed on all our forms. When asked if we could do it cheaper, we mentioned that we offer a face tip (200 pulses) for $1695. You decided to try the face tip instead. You understood the results would not be as noticeable. You mentioned that you would proceed with the larger tummy tip later. At that time, we were in the process of purchasing a new technology. I invited you to receive a free treatment ($1995). Unfortunately, the machine never received FDA clearance. We called to inform you. There was nothing unethical about this conduct.
