An open Letter to:

Dr. Stacey Marshall

Marshall Chiropractic

72 West Main Street

Oyster Bay, NY 11771

Dear Dr. Marshall

Having been a patient of yours for 8+ years I am very disappointed that you are putting the all mighty dollar above your patients care.

When I found out in February that I would no longer have medical benefits for my trigger point therapy and my chiropractic care, Jesse the trigger point therapist from EMA Medical, PC offered me 5 complimentary visits to finish up my care. She thought I was not ready to stop my sessions and wanted to be able to provide this service for me.

Unfortunately, when you found this out you told me when I came in to your office for my next session that I could no longer come to your office to receive my trigger point therapy if I was unable to pay you for an adjustment after each visit. I have to say this is the most unethical and unprofessional thing I have ever heard from a doctor, it is also called extortion.

It is a shame; the trigger point therapy has helped me ten times more than the adjustments ever did. You were the one who talked me into the trigger point therapy to begin with. Since starting the trigger point, I have not had the terrible sciatica problems I had been having for the last several years. It was something that was actually working.

Due to your very unethical and unprofessional behavior, I will no longer be a patient of Marshall Chiropractic ever again.

TO BE FAIR

To be fair I have to in all honesty say that although I still feel the same about what happened above I must give credit where credit is due: I would not have gone to Marshall Chiropractic for over 8 years if they were bad Chiropractors. I feel this is more a personality conflict. Dr. Stacy is an excellent Chiropractor, I owe her that much and it is the truth. The assistants are friendly and professional. The massage staff is unparallel. Jesse, the trigger point therapist is wonderful. She has helped a lot. Dr. Tim is a great Chiropractor and a very compassionate person. I am still pissed about what happened and will be looking elsewhere for my care from now on, but that is just my personal preference. Dr. Stacey did call me the following day to try to explain and asked me to come in to see her, but I do not think there is any changing my mind at this point.
