So I took my computer to this guy who I thought was someone who knew computers and needed extra cash. The initial problem was that my computer screen was broke. He looked at it and said it would be a simple fix: I just needed to buy the monitor. While the monitor was waiting to be shipped, he sent me inappropriate texts and I felt very uncomfortable. However, I didn't want to be a complete brat to him because he had my computer held hostage. As time went by the computer screen finally arrived and he told me that he must have "accidentally" ruined a cable in the process so the backlight wouldn't turn on. I was livid to say the least because (and I made this known) my classes were about to begin so I needed it ASAP. This simple fix was gradually adding up. He said that I needed to buy this other part but while I am waiting, if I really need my computer that bad, I can always have him come over and hook up my computer in my house to my TV. The guy already creeped me out so obviously I wouldn't want him in my apartment! I politely declined and said I could manage without it. Once the other part (cable) came in, he called me and once again, he said that this part did not fix the situation. I talked to other computer technicians and family and they said it was evident that he didn't know what he was doing and it wasn't worth it to go through him anymore. I told him I would call him back with what I would do and once again he offered to come to my house to hook up my computer. He also said (without initially running this by me) that he put a bid in on a computer because he was "fed up" with mine. I said I didn't want him to do that but since he intended on hooking my computer up, I would just come pick it up and my brother would look at it. He then became angry because I said he couldn't come over and he said I couldn't get my computer until the next day. I said I wanted it that day. He said too bad "I'm 41 years old, I have kids, I have other s**t to worry about" The cops escorted me to get my laptop. He continued to text me even after the cops told him not to, saying "Thanks for saving me 250" because he knew he was responsible for breaking my computer. An uneducated hillbilly who is falsely advertising should definitely be reported... you're welcome.
