My mother needed a few accessories for her family room. She hired Nancy Drew of Drew Designs, LTD to do the work.
Nancy Drew promised that she could have the family room ready by the holidays and would give the space a 'unique flair.'
$2,000 dollars later, all my mother had to show for the money she spent was a few picture frames, pillows, and throw rugs.
I called Nancy Drew to get the itemized receipts. After several phone calls, she finally got back to me. When she faxed me the receipts, I couldn't believe it! Everything that she purchased came from Bed, Bath and Beyond, and Target. TARGET!!! She then tacked on an extra $400 dollars for design fees.
Why would anyone pay a designer to shop at Target! She promised my mother a unique and custom design. Instead, she charged her $95 per hour to shop at a discount store.
If you choose to do business with Nancy Drew of Drew Designs, LTD, I suggest you get everything in writing first and only pay for services after they have been completed. Don't let her put you in the same situation as she did to my mother.

A salesperson at the paint store recommended that we take advantage of their color consultation program. For $75, an interior designer would come to your house to help you select colors.
We selected Nancy Drew of Drew Designs, LTD from their list of designers.
Nancy Drew canceled our appointment with almost zero notice, and was close to an hour late for the rescheduled appointment. But at that point, we were just happy she showed up.
We picked out paint colors, and Nancy Drew said she would send us the color swatches in the mail so that we could take them to the paint store. Nancy Drew said we would have them in a couple of days.
For over two weeks, we kept checking in with Nancy Drew to see when our paint swatches would come. Nancy Drew kept saying she was 'busy' and she would send them soon.
We finally gave up and went to Lowe's to pick out the colors ourselves.
I know $75 isn't a lot of money. But if Nancy Drew is too 'busy' to consult, why is she listed as a consultant?? She certainly wasn't too busy to cash our check!
I doubt we will ever need to hire an interior designer again, but if we do, it will NEVER be Nancy Drew with Drew Designs, LTD.
