5 months after traveling through Colorado I received a notice from Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP stating that I owed $35.20 for an unpaid toll on E-470. Supposedly I have an unpaid balance of $15.20 and then this agency tacked on a $20.00 collections fee.
Here is the problem:
I never ONCE in the 5 months since being in the state, received ANY type of bill or contact from E-470 highway authority. I wasn't even expecting to ever receive a bill because I thought every toll road I drove on I paid immediately in cash upon exiting. If I had known I traveled on a road without paying I would have been proactive about seeking out the bill.
What it boils down to is that this company never did bill me. After reading various other reviews on them, I am positive of this. They simply turned me over to a collections agency so that they could pile on all sorts of fees. If they had ever tried to contact me, I would have known it. It's funny how the collections agency was able to get in contact with me right away, but in 5 months E-470 wasn't able to.
I have contacted the BBB, CO state attorney general, and various other complaint companies, so we will see where this gets me. One thing is certain, E-470 can take their collections fee and shove it right up their a*s. If they want money they can learn how to send a freaking bill.
This is a VERY shady company with TERRIBLE business practices.
