Ripped off by Paypal, Ebay and the seller " Internet Resale"  Ordered an item and after 2 weeks I rec'd a tracking number.  Ran a trace and found that it had supposedly been delivered the day before.  I have never received it.  I requested that the selledr run a trace to see if it had been delivered to the wrong address.  They refused.  Said that the package had been delivered.  I then went to both Ebay and PayPAL for their "buyer protection"  Ebay said it was 2 early to file a claim.  So I filed a greivance with PayPal and they came back and said that since the seller says that the package was delivered I have no claim.  Well I am out my money and still need the part.

I have been screwed and am out my money.  I made the mistake of believing in the buyer protection plans.  Be advised that you need to use your credit cards directly as a bank will reverse charges like this but with PayPal you are just out your money with no recourse if they deny your claim.

It simply may be too early to file a case so don't panic. You are aware on "occasion" the Post Office messes up, and/or items were left by the front door and can be stolen..it happens and this is why they want to wait..

The policy is...

"You can open a case 3 days after the estimated delivery date of an item or 7 days after making payment if you weren't given an estimated delivery date."

If you were given an estimated delivery date and it is past 3 days..you can open a case. if not..wait it out, day 4 is not that far from day 3.

Were you given a delivery date? And you don't need the seller to trace anything if you were given a confirmation number, you can do this yourself. Where you given a confirmation number?

I only use sellers that state they will supply a confirmation number for this reason. It would seem they have or eaby should have not told you it is too early to dispute. If they did, let me know and I will advise the course of action, this is out of the ordinary.

I do agree it is best to use a credit card in case a charge back is required..but even then they still have to contact the seller and see if the reason is justified. Otherwise everyone could just spend, keep items that were shipped to them, and claim it never arrived even though the seller forwarded confirmation. It is a two way street and the PO is in the middle.

I am not trying to imply in any way you received the item and are trying to scam the seller, I am simply stating why these policies are put into place. Ebay and paypal do not profit off lost or stolen merchandise, they profit by protecting BOTH the buyer AND seller. It will work out as it seems apparent you will file a dispute well before the 45 day max. I only had to file once, it was not an ebay transaction but I paid for an item never received using my paypal..full refund issued but it took filing a dispute. The seller never responded so i won by default.
