E Z Rent-a-Car HK Craig & Associates rental car scam - send letter of damages 2 weeks after turning in vehicle Orlando Florida
We traveled to Orlando, FL on 9/28 - Oct 5. Rented a vehicle from E-Z Rent-A-Car located in Orlando Airport. Rate was supposed to be $6/day - however, by the time they added in EZPass/Sun Pass - $36 for tolls - we only used $4 in tolls - they do it so quickly, you are not even sure what they are telling you. My husband did the vehicle walk-around thoroughly marking every ding, dent, scuff, scratch on the vehicle.
Upon returning vehicle to terminal on Oct. 5, the rep does a walk-around, takes down mileage, and has you sign on her pad - no receipt UNLESS you request one - which I did and had to get from the rental counter - very rude person in there grudgingly gives you receipt. Two weeks after returning from vacation, receive a letter in the mail from HK Craig & Associates claiming we had $2,000 in damage on rental vehicle and to provide our credit card number immediately.
They send you a list of all the repairs that need to be made and let you know that if you would like pictures to request them. We received letter on Saturday, my husband tries contacting them on Monday - gets no answser - they tell you they'll respond back within 24 hours - it is now Tuesday - no response. I have filed with BBB, let my auto insurance and credit card company know of this scam.

The BBB is NOT part of ANY government body, has absolutely ZERO power to do anything! The BBB is a scam in and of itself!
