Complaint Review: e65 - Decatur Georgia

NOTE: I'm aware I'm making a double post. I just wanted to make sure that this report came up under the search bar under both e65 and Dwight Pearson.

I went to a job fair in June to look for a job. I was hired almost right off the bad by a company calling themselves e65. I was hired by a man named Dwight A Pearson.

My first day of work was on July 6th, just after the holiday. I was hired in my field as a graphic designer. I worked for Dwight for two full weeks inside the office on my laptop. Then payday came around, and Dwight never paid me, or any of the other employees. It was a brand new startup company, and he told me that we were having problems with pay roll. I've run across this before, so I believed him.

But another employee who was very angry, came into my office and reveled to me that Dwight had been arrested and charged in Florida for fraud once before. Of course this made me nervous, but I figured the job had to be legitimate. I was hired at a job fair, they were legally a corporation (I researched it) and we had an office building. No one in their right mind would hire people and waste all that money and then not pay them. I couldn't see the point.

And so, I told myself not to worry. Dwight came in to talk to me about it, hearing that the other employee spilt his secret to me. I told Dwight that everyone deserves a second chance, and that I don't believe in holding people's pasts against them...as long as I get paid. He seemed happy that I was so forgiving.

I continued to work for him for an entire week after that. But then the next week he didn't pay me again. I told him I was running out of money and that I had to feed myself and pay my rent, that my bank account was now at zero from all the waiting. By that time we only had a week left until Augusts rent. He said not to worry about it, that he'd get it to me somehow.

Then Friday the 30th rolled around. I went to go see him at the office that day and I came to the office with a friend of mine to discover that all of the offices had been emptied. All the locks on the doors had been changed and all of my personal belongings in my office had been either stolen or thrown away. The place had been abandoned and was now empty.

I understood then what had happened. I tried calling Dwight and e-mailing Dwight, but he ignored me and wouldn't talk to me. He refused to pay me what I was owed, or even give me a letter of separation so I could claim unemployment. It is definitely a low dirty rotten thing to not even give a letter of separation. I told him if he couldn't pay me, fine, just give me a letter of separation so I could get unemployment. He wouldn't even do that, a gesture that would have cost him nothing at all.

So in short, I'm about to lose my apartment because I cannot pay rent, or any of my bills for August because of this man. Because of Dwight A Pearson and e65. My roommate and I are going to need to cram ourselves and our three cats in with a friend and her one bedroom apartment until we can figure out what we're doing.

Because thanks to Dwight's heartlessness, I can't even get unemployment without a letter stating that I didn't quit of my own free will. So please, if you ever hear of e65 do not purchase anything from them, do not work for them, have nothing to do with this evil company and this evil man. Stay far away. Or he'll ruin you like he ruined me.
