East Bay Tire Co Faulty tires Benicia California
On 3/24/14 a friend purchased 4 DU2358016-1 (product code) 235/80R 16 10 DURO STS TL tires from the Bencia Service Division of East Bay Tires. The tires were mounted on my Raptor 5th wheel. The tires were rated as E and met load capability of the original tires that were removed. Two weeks later I started a cross-country move from CA to AL driving the 5th wheel. All 4 tires bubbled and had to be replaced during the course of the 5 day trip out of pocket. Not to mention the inconvenience of jacking up a 38ft 5th wheel and unloading the garage each of the times a tire failed roadside. I am out of pocket at least $600. The Sales Person was Dale Anderson.
As I did not personally purchase the tires and am no longer in CA I had someone contact the East Bay Tire Co distributor who was not willing to assist with refunding my money. I do not want replacement Duro tires (and that was not offered as an option). I have been unable to locate a Duro dealership in AL.
While online I noticed another similar complaint in 2010 for defective E Duro RV tires for the same bubbling issue. I believe they sell a defective product and they should not be allowed to do so.
