I joined eastern michigan landscaping based in Hartland Michigan as a laborer, as most people that have ran into this joke I thought it was a good learning experience. And even the owner Jamie Beattie, seemed to be a solid guy. Looks can be deceiving. I had a 40 minute ride to work so eventually after long 12-14 hour days. I found another job next to home and told him I was no longer working for him. I worked 3 days but still 12-14 hours a day is a lot and my hours summed up to 38 total at $10 an hour. Mind you he never had me sign anything, or any type of legal forms. So my total would be around $380 with some lunch break taken out and then taxes had he been legal about it. After 4 weeks of bugging him and telling him that I wanted my money, my friend Sebastion went to get our money (he worked 3 days as well). And Jamie shorted me and wrote me for only $200. I finally got that little bit after I had been told I was a lazy worker and worked half of the time. He's a very sad man to be running a business like that. Now I will report a few things I had witnessed below that didn't directly involve me.
- My friend Sebastion was yelled at by field opperations manager Matt for leaving the work site to use the bathroom.
- Jamie the owner mistreated one young lady according to her, by what I would say was intimidation.
- Jamie got into a screaming contest with one of his clients over how bad the job was done. (Which it was)
- Weeks later just recently my friend Dave whom I met at the place was fired for being "too slow" (ironically they just hired a new guy)
P.S - My friend has photos and videos of me working to have proof of work if needed.
