I bought quiet a number of items off Ebay at one time I thought I was getting a bargan. I then began to compare prices of other items at which I was looking and the price I had paid for what I had bought and found that I could go to a local retail store and buy the same item for the same price or less (in most cases)and not have to wait to recieve the item and the items usually had a rebate attached (which the seller keeps and gets the rebate themselves) or a warranty when bought at the retail store. I also did not have to concern myself with the question, "Am I really going to get what was advertised?" I have bought items off Ebay which were advertised one way then when I recieved it, it wasn't quiet what was advertised, then when contacting the seller they would reply "Read the fine print". I don't have to read the fine print any longer because I don't buy off Ebay anymore. Now I understand why prices on Ebay are so HIGH, the sellers have to inflate their prices to make a profit. And the statement "but you have to pay sales tax" don't fly. I also don't like getting ripped off by inflated shipping cost. Support your local retailers they'll appreciate it and you'll be happier when something goes wrong and you can go back and talk to someone face to face.

I have decided, when selling on E Bay, to make a separate page in a notebook keeping track of each separate item and what expenses EACH generated. Time consuming, but I've found this's necessary if a person really wants to keep track of what's going on, and separating the plethora of individual service charges. One item can generate 3 or 4 separate selling costs. . Early on, I just listed the items, and only noted the aggregate total of their charges. Bad idea! Figure out their statement 30 days after the fact? Forget it! I never knew for sure what item generated what charges and what items were ultimately profitable. . The ploy used by sellers in increasing numbers in ALL auctions is to jack up the shipping 'way up. Frankly, I now always make sure my shipping isn't at a loss, (and jack it just a LITTLE). I NEVER leave ANY money in the E Bay "bank". I suck it out in a nanosecond. . Sadly, E bay is now the only truly effective auction (for individuals), and they know it. Look for even higher costs in the future. Even Sears and other major retailers are now selling on E Bay. For me E Bay is sort of an internet black hole. It just keeps sucking me in.

They are charging me another $15.00 here and their because they are trying to take out early! I am no longer making any money.....If I have advice for people stay away from Ebay. They charge you for everything. You will not make a profit!!!
