Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I would like to begin by stating I am a used car dealership with a small but busy service and repair center. We work on new incoming vehicles and customer vehicles. We spend several thousand dollars a month on automotive parts.

After submitting a parts request on a search tool;

August 18, 2009 Thomas Thompson contacted me by email stating that he might be able to rebuild my transmission control module . I had already provided my vehicle type, year, vin, and transmission computer number and transmission type. The non function transmission control module and a check for $215 ($15 RETURN SHIPPING CHARGE) were shipped to him in late august.

Apparently he never researched my particular transmission control module. After several phone, a couple weeks and a couple heated discussions, Thomas Thompson believed me that I had sent him the transmission control module for an Audi A6 (3.0 liter CVT trans). He stated that he was not able to rebuild a sealed unit such as this one and that he would have to find a functioning transmission control module. Of course he needed all the money upfront before he would buy anything (STUPID ME!!!).

We sent him a check for an additional $145, and then he stated that he had a unit but he needed an additional $200 from us to buy the unit. approximately a week later he had a grand total $564 from us.

October 3, 2009 he informed us that the particular unit had been sold and was no longer available. He would begin another search.

We began emailing and phoning him weekly trying to get an update with almost no response from him.

November 6, 2009 I sent him an email informing him that we could not wait any longer for him to find a transmission control unit. I left him a voice mail and email stating to cancel the order and provide a refund to the company.

That day I ordered a transmission control module from the Audi dealer for $1100. It will delivered from Germany within the next two weeks.

Thomas Thompson called me back that day, not to say he had a unit but to inform me that he does not provide refunds, even if he has not provided any service.

We will not be doing a future business with him. None of our national or regional suppliers would ever work this way. If I charged my customers for service and provided none I would be out of business.

This all started out when I contacted S & P Auto Sales LLC Contact person was Andy Polnicki he needed a lot of help and info and he didn't have a clue what he was talking about! He was giving me a part # from a unit he removed he told me. This part # didn't show up anyplace.

He assured me he was giving me the  right part # for the transmission control module. I checked and found the right # for that part and his didn't come close and he assured me again he was giving me the right #s. We looked for hours to find a replacement unit to match his part #. We couldn't find anything still!

I finally suggested for the 3rd time it maybe best to send in his for rebuilding he finally agreed and shipped us in the unit he THOUGHT was the transmission computer. We could see it was a transmission part but wasn't the transmission computer. He again refused to believe it was not the transmission unit.

I located a dealer ship and with his Vin# was able to confirm the correct part # and it was nothing like the units numbers he stated it was.
We then had finally started a search on the right unit and it turned out it was a very expensive unit, the dealers list price was Over $1,000.

We had located a unit with one of our vendors and gave him a price of $549 he didn't argue the price even he knew it was a super deal for this unit. So he said I WILL BE GOING OUT OF TOWN FOR A WEEK BUT I AM SENDING YOU THE BALANCE! I said great and made it clear the balance amount he said ok. When this check arrived days later after me telling him to send it fast so we wont lose the unit I found he decided the cost to send it western union or money gram was to much so he decided to send it by regular 1st class mail.

It arrived not only late but short! As I figured he would try to pull a fast one on me.. Used car dealership have always been trouble to deal with they try to swindle me ever time I have to deal with one. So he tried the old I wont be around to call just ship me the unit fast. As to say just take the short payment and trust me for the rest. I already know these guys won't come back again they only need a unit once in a blue moon.

So now I had lost the unit he was quoted. When he got back in town (as if he really left town) he calls me with the hey Tom where is my unit buddy??  I just said hey Andy you sent me less then I told you and it was by slow mail so we lost that unit now. I will have to find another one and we can't promise the price will be the same. So he goes but you said the amount I sent you. NO ANDY I SURE DIDNT READ THE EMAIL INVOICE!

He goes oh I did but I didn't under stand that. Then why send me anything, just call me and ask the amount due. Well we have been trying to locate another unit that is at a reasonable price. Mean while he wants a rush on it as if they are all over the place and he can get another so easy.

Now he tells me look I got to buy one from the dealer. Just send us back our money. I informed him we have a NO REFUND policy and he can have a credit for something else. He said then fine get me that same unit and I will sell it or keep it for something else. He at the same time posted this Rip Off Report without telling me.

He wants the same unit he says no mater what.. So he says he ordered it and it cost him $1,100 USD well that's a shame but I told him send me a wire that same day and the amount and he didn't want to rush it. Now hes all up set and is crying I ripped him off on here. Hes a con-artist like most of the used car sales people are.
