Eight Squared, charged credit card for shipment even after cancellation of membership Raleigh North Carolina
I order a free sample of Altovis based on a TV ad. Upon receiving the original order I noticed that there was an automatic reorder program (called membership) that was going to occur in 30 days. I followed the procedures outlined in the booklet that came with the order to cancel the "membership". The booklet said you could go to the askBerkley.com website to cancel "memberships".
The website ask that you input the credit card number used to order the product. This is done to match up the cancel request with the proper "membership" account or so one thinks. I received a confirmation number stating that my membership was canceled and that I would not receive automatic shipments. I did this on 8/19 well in advance of the 30 day deadline. On 8/26 (much eariler than the 30 days that it was suppose to be) my credit card was charged and an order was shipped.
When I called the askberkley customer site to find out what went wrong I was told that I should have cancelled my membership with Eight Squared Inc because they were the ones that sent the order. The booklet that came with the order clearly states that you should go to the askberkley site to cancel memberships. There is an email address for eight squared shown for "making changes to your continuity program" but why would anyone want to use email to cancel something when a website was offered that issues confirmation numbers. When I called Eight Squared to request a refund they stated that they would not because they do not honor the berkeley cancelations.
