I pre-ordered a Nintendo DS unit from ebgames.com a couple of months (sept 2004) ago and their website advertised that you have to pre-order before November to guarantee shipment.

Anyway, I returned today to get my shipping number and I find my order is on "hold" status. I called their customer service and they said that they could not verify my shipping address and had cancelled the order. They never bothered to follow up with me as to why my address could not be verified, although they claim to have sent "an email" AND I have successfully purchased from them several times previously.

Now I am unable to receive my order that I placed to guarantee the console as a gift for my nephew this christmas. Everywhere is sold out and i'll have to wait until end January/February before I can get hold of one (which definintely won't be from EBgames.com!)

What bothers me the most is that they claim to guarantee then seem to make up excuses when they do not have stock. It seems very strange that a different order placed a week later with the same credit card for a PC game was shipped and charged successfully.

Bad customer service, and I will be checking that they have not charged anything to my credit card!
