Ellen Prince - Fictious Name Crook pretends interest in a puppy & wants to send m.o. & ship by an "agent" to be paid with said m.o. Internet
I have puppies advertised on PuppyFind.com. There is a common scam where the crook offers to buy a puppy with a money order. I have been approached two or three times by the same "interested buyer" referring to my current ad. The tipoff is that these "interested buyers" misspell words, do not use correct English grammar, and are obviously from another country.
The catch is that they say they will send an 'extra amount' to be applied towards shipping costs. Their 'agent' will pick up the puppy and ship him to them.
Problem is, AFTER you pay the agent from the money order, you find out too late that the money order is a FAKE.
I have had previous 'offers' such as this before with ads for other litters. Thankfully I smelled a rat and ignored the offer; but, I wonder how many other innocent people have been scammed by these criminals?
PuppyFind.com has sent out warnings and also has a web page warning about such scams. That is what confirmed to me that this was not a valid transaction at all.
