Take my warning!! Do Not rent from Enterprise Rent a Car AT ALL!! They will lie to you!!!  Hear my story.

I needed to rent a car to see my aging Dad, who is 95 yeas old. I just wanted to go to his birthday party.  My car would not make it because of a bad radiator. And I am unemployed so I don't have a big amount to hold on a credit card to rent the car. I called on a Saturday to the Enterprise Rent a Car 800 number to make a reservation.

They told me that "I am in luck" in my situation. That they have a special of $9.99 per day with 100 free miles, AND, they said that they would only hold the amount of the rental plus insurance on my credit card, and that I wouldn't need $300 deposit on my credit credit card. The total amount that I would need available on my credit card would be about $22 plus the insurance. The total would have been maybe about $50 which I could have on my credit card.

I told my wife the good news, That I found a great company that cares about people who may be unemployed, who need a car for a rare occasion, and who have little money at the time, but who can pay the cost of the rental and the insurance.

Then, on Monday when I called the actual Enterprise branch, in Upland, CA on 1690 West Foothill Blvd, IT WAS A TOTAL DIFFERENT STORY.  After I made my reservation on that Sunday, and after I told people that I could go see my Dad, I learned on Monday from "Peter" the Branch Manager, that No I couldn't rent the car because I would need "$300 to hold on my credit card" I told Peter what the Main Call Center of Enterprise Rent a Car said to me. Peter told told me they were wrong and they gave you the wrong information. Peter also told me that he didn't want me to put the "guilt on him" about the fact that I now couldn't see my aging Dad.

Peter offered $150 that I would have to put on the credit card. I said I am unemployed and that I still couldn't get that amount on my credit card. At this point Peter didn't want to talk to me anymore because I was upset and wanted to say my say.

Enterprise Rent a Car Call Center does not tell you the correct information. They don't know what their branches are charging. They will promise you, but the truth might be different. I would not rent from them anymore after this experience.
