Entrepreneurs Across America ripoff and deceptive practices Denton Texas
On May 19, 2005 my wife is at home alone, very ill, and on pain medication. She gets a knock at the door from a guy selling magazines. He gives her the whole speech about how he can go on a fabulous trip and what not so forth. She doesn't want to be rude, but tells him several times that she's not interested in buying magazines. He keeps her at the door for 45 minutes or so (in a Vicadin induced haze) trying to get her to buy magazines. After that time she just wants him to leave so agrees to order a magazine that neither one of us reads. He gives her the receipt and she goes to bed.
When I get home she tells me what happened and I ask where's the receipt. I look at the receipt and you only have 3 days (not even 3 business days) to get it back to cancel the order. I look this company up on the internet, find this site, and immediately realize that something is up. I call the very same night and put a stop payment on the check and I put the cancellation notice in the mail the very next day, May 20th.
About 2 months after that, we get a letter from them saying that the cancellation is past the 3 day mark, the date that they have is the middle of June and that they aren't canceling. I'm thinking that they do that to a lot of people and I'm glad that I cancelled the check. So today, September 9th, I get a letter from a collection agency saying that I owe $45 plus an additional $31.87.
So now I have to try and get that resolved. Anywa, just a heads up, turn away those people trying to sell magazines
