I have not done business with Equity Build so I can't comment on the company itself. But I can comment on the location of the Chicago properties shown on Equity Build's website. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and visited Chicago less than a year ago, so I am very familiar with the Chicago areas shown on Equity Build's website.
Although I don't like saying it (since I was born and raised in some of these areas and there are some good people in these areas), most of the locations shown on Equity's website are in a "war zone". There are some improvements being made to a handful of pockets in the areas. So know what and where you're buying or financing; certain areas are not safe - which will impact the quality of tenants, re-financing opportunities and the re-sale value of the property.

I would like to know if the person who wrote the original report has ever bought a property? I have bought 8 properties from Equity Build and have had a genuine good business experience with them. They have been responsive, ethical, and done everything they said they would do within their control. Creative financing is necessary these days with the tightening of lending within the banking world. If you had to bring 20-30% as a downpayment for each property it would take you awhile to build your portfolio of properties. Equity Build puts the project and financing together so you don't have to worry about it. If you are interested in expanding your portfolio of real estate and you don't have the time to do it yourself, Equity Build is the way to go.
