Eric Doringer, sorry Dr. Doringer, yeah right, is a scam artist who has a degree not worth the paper its printed on and who gives psycholgocial advice he has no expertise to give.

I went to for problems with my menstruation and he tried to tell me I had to heal my relationship with my mother, convinced me to pay for $2,000 worth of tests out of pocket and sold me $500 worth of supplments. Here's the best part. He misread the tests (hes a naturpath and not a MD) and so told me I was fine when I had uterine cysts bloking my tubes. A surgery later and the MD told me I could have died waiting for the supplements to work. He also told me it had nothing to do with my mother.

Also his acupuncture sucks. Seriously, I am going to SWAAC's student clinic and they are btter and a thrid the cost.

Finally, the guy is a creep. Just check out his photo. Gross.

Okay Sam! So you were born in Boulder and have a lot of experience with doctors!!! God for you!!! That makes you an expert and even though you know nothing about my case you know a lot about "Crazy Bodies and Bacteria." You sound like a self rightious Boulder moron who thinks you're smarter than you are.

Well, to be clear, my father is also a MD (A a real one and not from a Naturpathic college with no standing) and I had painfull menstration (I imagine you're an expert on that too) and Doringer gave me a bunch of New Age BS and five hundred dollars in supplements and came on to me while I was in his office. Maybe stay out of other people's business even if you are from Boulder and "super expereinced" with doctors.

I was Googling something else and saw this Ripoff Report.  I wanted to make sure any future potential patients of Dr. Dorninger's know that he's a great Naturopath.  Anyone reading this may be aware that pro/con reviews online tend to show up most when someone has a complaint, but that they should all be taken with a huge grain of salt.  We can't know all the details here and there are two sides to every story.  However, when you have someone adding in some really snarky words and even criticizing a photo, one might wonder how credible the source of the complaint is.  The more I read the trashing, the more I felt like it was from an emotional, bullying and bitter place versus a calm, well-explained and reliable tale of caution.

My wife is currently a patient of Dr. Dorninger's.  We were referred to him by another physician, one of the most respected and sought-after in all of Boulder County.  This is not an opinion, this is a fact - I was born and raised here, but spent 24 years living in other cities around the country.  My family is still here and knows the medical community very well.  I say all this to back up the experience we have when I saw the referrring physician is one of the most respected here.  I've seen other doctors in other areas of practice who all know and respect him.  When this physician recommends someone like Dr. Dorninger it's based on his personal respect for him and also the success his patients have found with Dr. D.  He's the sort of doctor patients go to when their primary care physician or other specialists have hit a brick wall.

I don't know anything about the complainant's medical situation other than what I read, and it sounded like an issue one would tend to only see standard practioners and specialists for.  My wife was diagnosed with Lyme's and when the treatment didn't yield results and other issues were present, that's when it was suggested that Dr. D should take it from there. Everything he has figured out answered a lot of questions and her other doctors are 100% on board with Dr. D's course of treatment.  We're only a few months into it but I can tell you that he WORKS HARD to avoid us spending too much money.  He's extremely budget-conscious and understands that not taking insurance is an issue for patients, but his area of practice wouldn't be covered anyway.  Again, he's a unique type of doctor that absolutely understands some issues require standard treatments, medications, and diagnosises.  Others are more tricky.

I'm sorry to hear this woman had a bad experience, because this guy cares big time, works extremely hard to get his patients well, thinks outside the box, looks for answers and solutions, and comes across as a good guy with a scientific mind who'll leave no stone unturned.

What more could you ask?  IF YOU HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH MEDICAL SITUATIONS AND DOCTORS, than you know how challenging it is for even the best doctors to find solutions and please their patients.  It's a two-way relationship and patients need to communicate very, very well to help the process.  With a lot of issues out there for our crazy human bodies in a world filled with weird bacteria, diseases, and things in the air and food, well, you need to work with doctors that aren't so proud and ego-based that they'll assume they have all the answers.  Dr. Dorninger is one of the good ones.  He's confident but never ever treats a patient (in our experience) like they are crazy.  That's a big deal when someone comes in with a frustrating ailment (or set of ailments).

So please don't put too much stock in the complaint, if someone sends you to Dr. Dorninger or you find him on your own, make sure you're seeing him for the right reasons, with an open mind, and you're ready to get to work.  It's also okay to try and exhaust other more traditional doctors first.  Because if they can't diagnose, treat and cure you effectively, then you might be best-positioned to appreciate the way Dr. Dorninger works and his approach to hard-to-diagnose/treat issues.
