Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
My brother signed up with them in April 2009.  In the summer of 2009 he lost his job and could not pay the monthly dues.  He called their offices several times, pleading with them to give him a break and release him from the contract, especially since he had only gone to 2 events.  In other words, he hadn't cost them the amount of money they were seeking from him and they would have lost no money in releasing him from his contract in a time of hardship.  But no.  They refused.  Finally, a couple days ago, give or take, he received a letter saying they would be sending his account to collections.  He called us up asking for advice, telling us he didn't know how he'd handle the stress of being hunted down for the money.  We didn't know what to tell him.

It was later that day he attempted suicide by way of running his car in his closed garage with himself in the driver's seat.  So far it appears as though he's probably got some serious brain damage.  Survival is not guaranteed.  Even if he pulls through, there's the brain damage to worry about.  Whether or not he would be able to function is debatable.  How is he going to be able to answer the phone when the debt collectors call to fetch that money Events And Adventures worked so hard to earn?

Don't anyone get involved with this company.  Just don't.  If only someone had warned my brother, he might not be on the verge of death right now, thanks to the disgusting, heartless people who run this company.

Hopefully your brother will recover, as the body can heal quite remarkably.  But your anger is misdirected at this company and your energy should probably be directed into getting your brother the help he needs.  This includes physical and mental help.

A person does not attempt to commit suicide over 1 letter.  So it was just a matter of time as to if it was this incident that "put him over the edge" or another one that would have.

I am sincerely sorry for what has happened to your brother. However, a person doesn't attempt suicide just because one bill collector is after him. Your brother had a legal obligation to fulfill the contract. If he can't, he can't. But I can't imagine this was the only problem your brother was experiencing. Of course, the loss of a job is a stressful event, but he's in good company. LOTS of people are out of work and having a hard time paying their bills.

I hope you and your family will seek counseling to help you through this.
