I bought a ford E-250 to start a carpet cleaning business. With the weight of the machinery I was carrying it had to have a V-8. After putting about 40,000 miles on it my transmission went out which cost me $2000 to have fixed. I never thought anything about it. Last year I needed a catalytic converter put in and the guy ask me which size V-8 I had in it and I replied I didn't know so he looked at it and said " you know there's not a V-8 in this there's a V-6. I couldn't beleive it. That explained why my transmission went out so fast since I was carrying over 2000 pounds of machinery. After finding out someone had switched the engine and sold it to me I contacted the dealer "Everhart Honda " who sold me the van and they said I should of looked it over better and they sold their company to someone else anyway and that was it. Anyway I looked back at the title and paperwork and it says clearly it was suppose to be a white econoline E-250-V8. Now trying to get a new van is impossible with a vehicle that's suppose to have a V8 and instead has a V6. What to do? I guess I am the dummy to not have noticed it in the first place. Also I need to mention I bought it used in 2002 with almost 30.000 miles on it and just figured this all out about a year ago. But has always bothered me that someone knew what they were selling me and got away with it.
