When I moved to my new place in Studio City I was having a hard time finding high speed service.  I decided to bundle with Direct TV since they offered a discount if I did so.  They said the internet they provided to my area was established through "Excede" a third party.  I was under the impression everything was billed to one account.  While I have no complaints regarding my television service, I am sad that Direct TV would be affliated with such a terrible company like Excede.  When I scheduled my internet I was told I would have high speed service and that a man would come to install the line.  Instead I got crappy speed...I do not have the knowledge to explain the type becuase I am not a computer geek, but all I know is I could not even watch a SINGLE movie on my netflix through my apple TV system.  Not to mention they installed a satellite to the roof - I was never told this was satellite internet.  When I discovered my internet was not working properly I called and they said I could for a faster speed for $60.00 more, on top of the $50.00 I was already paying.  I said I did not want the service, I was lied to about the speed and then was threatened to be penalized by a $600.00 early cancellation fee.  I was NEVER told I was under a contract and I never signed or would EVER authorize anything as ludacris as this.  I would never agree to a two year contract since I knew I would be moving 6 mos. later.  I requested a copy of the document I signed stating I agreed to these contract terms and they said they could not locate it.  I have refused to pay them since they did not provide the service I was requested and have now been threatened to be sent to collections.  I am not sure if they can send me to collections without my SS number or the document that states I agreed to those terms.  I feel very violated and have not run into this problem with any other service provider.  There needs to be regulations on these internet scammers.  And from the looks of this rip off report website I am not the only victim.

Hi, I am sorry to hear you have not been satisfied with your Exede service and I would like to help.  First let me assure you the early termination fee isn't $600.00, that would be absolutely incorrect.  Please email me at [email protected] with your name, telephone number, and the best time to call.  We certainly don't want your account to go unnecessarily into collections and I am sure we can find a resolution for you.  Thanks.
