This is what I emailed to Experian today. I think this will speak for itself:

Fraudlent billing from Experian: $9.95

Hello,

Experian has been deducting $9.95 per month from my checking/debit account without my authorization. I ordered only one credit report on December 18, 2006. I only recently caught the unauthorized charges on my statements which include the following:

03/26/2007 CHECKCARD CIC*CE Credit Manager 800-3888725 CA

03/01/2007 CHECKCARD CIC*CE Credit Manager 800-3888725 CA

01/29/2007 CHECKCARD CIC*CE Credit Manager 800-3888725 CA

Although this fee might be readable in fine print only (and unless you're looking for it), I would like to suggest an idea to you. Amidst all the recent corporate scandals that have affected many of us, I would strongly caution you on charging this monthly fee. I came to see that I was one of many Experian customers whose trust was taken advantage of. We can all get a free credit report somewhere else but I came to Experian because I trusted your company to give me exactly what I paid for: one credit report, not a $9.95 monthly fee that goes unnoticed unless you "catch" it.

As far as I'm concerned, this is a very poor, unprofessional business practice your company has decided to implement, knowing full well that your intention is to deceive your customer. I expect full reimbursement of the three transactions I listed above. The total amount is $29.85. And finally, you do not have authorization to charge any other fees in the future from my banking account.

If this is not handled in a professional, ethical and timely manner, I will contact the Better Business Bureau, amongst other media outlets. The absolute worst thing a company can do is deceive its customer and think it's never going to get caught. Trust me, I have been online and have read numerous and endless complaints from others who have experienced this with your company.

It's not the amount of money that is so disturbing to me about this situation. Matter of fact, I'm not sure if anyone who has complained has said it's because of the monetary value: $9.95. It's the fact that you did not disclose this charge up front and did it in a "manner that is NOT easily understood or interpreted". I feel this was very shady of your company and I will never do business with you again.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Otherwise, I expect to be credited back $29.85 immediately.

Regards,

"customer"

They ripped me off as well

Stay away from Experian they ripped me off as since 2013 they have been charging my credit account without my knowledge andauthorization. I just found out today after two years they have been charging me a monthly fee close to $13.00 for fake service that I have not even used. Watch out what you sign for online and keep records of their cancelation emails its your only proof against them they obviously declined that I had canceled the service what's new lol. Lesson well learned

It took Experian's customer service department less than a few hours to respond back to me. Not only was she very courteous but she instantly processed my refund for the months I was charged and she cancelled my account. I commend Experian for doing this. Thank you!
