Explore Talent "This is where Kristen Stewart and Pamela Anderson got their start!", Internet
So I've been dabbling into modeling for a few months now, and somehow I came to be on their "list".
I just received a call from "Donna" saying that she has major opportunities for me in movies starring Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and Zac Efron!!! (Whose name she repeatedly mispronounced). Anyway, I listened to her whole deal about how I have all this potential blah blah blah (mind you I've never attempted an acting career) and that these stars are always seeking out new faces.
First off, anyone even faintly familiar with the entertainment industry knows that those really in charge of casting, etc. don't need to seek out ANYONE. They have new faces throwing themselves at them constantly, and the challenge for new actors/actresses is that in order to be in major motion pictures you have to be a member of SAG - which you can only be a member of if you've been in a major motion picture (it's like the whole "you can't get credit until you have credit" issue). There are loopholes, of course.
Anyway, knowing these particular facts about the industry, I asked "Donna" for references or any other documentation to establish credability for this company. Instead, she proceeded to tell me know Kristen Stewart and Pamela Anderson got discovered through Explore Talent. Let's see....Pamela Anderson has been an actress since before the internet was even used by everyone like it is today (and she was actually discovered in Canada after she appeared on the jumbro screen at a football game), and Kristen Stewart got her start through her dad who is a Hollywood producer or director or something like that.
Sorry to break it to you guys, but Explore Talent will not make you the next Bella Swan. Instead, they'll take large amounts of your money AND pride.
