Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

We, too had a similar experience with Expressions Photography. After attending a bridal show in Feb. 2009, we were contacted by Mr. Parks telling us that we had won a discounted photgraphy package. We met with Roy, signed a contract to photograph our daughter's wedding in January 2010, and gave him a 250.00 deposit. The contract clearly stated that final payment was due on the day of the wedding with no additional payments necessary before that date.

Shortly after signing the contract, I began receiving e-mails and phone calls from Mr. Parks offering a significant discount on the package if I paid the balance in full in advance. I told him that I was not comfortable with doing that, since I couldn't be sure that the photographer would show up for the wedding if he had the entire balance up front. These e-mails and phone calls continued periodically.

On Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009. my husband received a phone call from Mr. Parks informing him that unless we paid the balance in full immediately, he would be forced to cancel our contract. I then called him personally, and he told me that same thing. He said that since we had not made any payments since we made the original deposit and would not pay the balance in full immediately, he was cancelling the contract. I reminded him that I had a copy of the contract in front of me and that it said nothing about any payments before the day of the wedding. He got rude, said he was not going to photograph the wedding, and hung up on me. Luckily, January is a slow month for weddings and I was able to secure a wonderful, reputable photographer the next day. I want to make sure that no one else falls victim to this company, I am pretty certain that had we paid the balance in full, we would have been stuck with no photographer at the wedding.

Also worth noting, I contacted the company that hosted the bridal show at which we supposedly "won" the discounted package and they have never heard of Expressions and that any prizes they award have no strings attached. Obviously Mr. Parks obtained my daughter's name and phone number through questionable means.

Don't Be Fooled - this person is being sued for libel, defamation and tortious interference

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sat, December 12, 2009

Most of the statements in this report are not accurate and with intent to harm the reputation of this business and the photograher we hired for this wedding. We had cause to cancel this contract and we have the evidence to support our claim when its heard in court next month.

This lady is being sued for libel, defamation, and tortious interence of business in the State of Michigan. A lawsuit was filed against her last week for these civil infractions and the company is seeking extensive damages. She had intent to drive business away by posting false accusations and bogus statements to scare brides away from this company and what she did cannot be undone on this site.

We gave photography and/or videography services to more than 20 brides this year and they posted excellent reviews under our company on various websites. We never cancel a contract without cause and we don't steal money and not show on the wedding dates. We choose to work with only skilled photographers with the ability to photograph in many different situations using the best compositions and creative style to deliver beautiful wedding photos. Quality, service and price are what matter most. We never charge more than a fair dollar amount for each job based on the client's budget and what she would like in her package.

If a contract is canceled a refund is given within ten business days. If a bride must cancel a contract because her wedding date changes, we provide her with service on the new date unless we have no way of doing it ourselves in which case she is given a refund or we can refer her to another company and transfer the funds to them.

We have several photographers working for this company each with different levels of experience from 5 years to 23 years and we try and match the client to the person that best matches her particular needs, style, and budget as best we can.
