EZ car Rental Rip off on a Blown Tire Orlando Florida
My husband, Father in-law and I were driving back to the Orlando Airport when the left rear tire started to make a noise and then started smoking. I pulled over immediately to see what the problem was and noticed the tire had a huge hole in it. I called the EZ rental car service to see if they could come help us, since we could not get the spare tire out of the truck area. This was an electric car and the hoses were mounted back there.
They arrived 50 mins later, and took us to the airport while the one gentleman stayed to change the tire. At that time, I spoke to the guy behind the window and also the Supervisor who met us there and they both said there would NOT be any additional charges, since this was not your fault. I got my bank statement in the mail, to find that they charged me $100 for one tire, plus $67.00 in fees, not to mention they still have not put back my deposit of a $100.00.
I called to see why I would be help responsible for a tire that blown and never gave me any idcation that there was an issue with the tire, and I was told thats the policy and you need to pay for the tire. First of all, $100.00 for a tire is out of control, and they don't tell you any of this when you renting the car. They claim the Insurance you take out DOES NOT even cover the tire.
I don't think the customer should be responsibile for a blow out and also, $100.00 for one tire is outrageous. This is why they don't have anyone renting from them.
