I activated my EzTag tag on the morning of July 27 (Saturday), received confirmation that it was activated, and first used it on the evening of July 28 (Sunday) on Beltway 8. I checked my EzTagaccount to make sure the activity was recorded. It wasn't. So I checked again on the morning of July 29. No activity. I checked my TxTag account because I used their tolls two hours before arriving in Houston. The TxTag account showed activity. So how come EzTag hasn't reported any activity? Is my EzTag tag defective? Is it not activated properly? Is it in the "wrong" position? (Since there is no room in the middle where the rear-view mirror is, I placed it on the far-left side on the windshield about 4 inches from the top.) I called EzTag customer service. A female voice told me that it takes 24 hours to the next morning for the activity to be posted. She also claimed that placing the tag on the far left side of the windshield should not be a problem. 24 hours after using Beltway 8, the EzTag account still did not report the activity. Was she lying? I began to wonder: would I be getting a violation for using Beltway 8? Tuesday morning came and went. Still no activity posted on my account. Another representative assured me that I won't get any violation because my vehicle information is in their records. Given the rich history of crappy products/services in all of TEXAS, I have a hard time believing her.

Wednesaday morning came. Still no activity posted. I'm convinced now that the EzTag doesn't work, and I'll get a violation. It has been almost 3 days and and still nothing. Customer service hasn't been helpful. Their excuse is that there's some construction on Beltway 8. I drove by there on Sunday and didn't see any construction. The only other thing they can tell me is that "there's a delay" and "you have to give it time". How much time? They couldn't say. Once again, that's TEXAS customer service. I lost $55.00 (including $15 activation fee) on a product that doesn't work. I'm going to try to have the account canceled and have my remaining balance refunded.

When I received the violation papers, I'll file another report.
