I know what you're going through{unfortunatly}. Fairbanks, [an oxymoron of a name!], became the 4th holder of our mortgage in 1 years time. Needless to say, they started giving us the 'royal'treatment' soon after.

We went to our local bank to refinance & get away from their lowlife tactics. Our orig. mortgage stated "no early payoff penalty" & when our loan was continually being tossed around, we no longer read the documents that came with the change of lender. The 1st sell off letter stated that nothing from the original loan would change.

Keep in mind, I was a licensed Realtor at the time... to our horror the bank attempted to pay off & was informed that we owed an additional $18,000 !! This is NOT a typo. We were fortunate enough to have parents that could bail us out of the situation, I'll be able to pay'em back as soon as I win the lottery!

Does it end here? Ha-Ha-Ha! They continued with foreclosure actions which pretty much shot my real estate career in the rear! It's a small community we live in. For entertainment we read the foreclosure announcements. At this time, in the middle of a foreclosure, the loan was sold AGAIN to a company called Altegra. This company was as bad, if not worse than Fairbanks! For several months after the refinancing this company continually sent us notices wanting payment or they were going to foreclose on a mortgage they didn't have!

Could anything be done? The honest, friendly, local banker strongly advised that we retain the services of an attorney & sue their pants off. Since we couldn't get them to leave us alone & stop harrassing us with threats of foreclosure on a mortgage they didn't even hold, we let it slide. We thanked our lucky stars & our parents everyday & that was about all the energy we had left.

Weeks later, my Mother-in-law found on the internet There was posting after posting after posting all about... you guessed it! Fairbanks Capitol Corp.

I can still think back to that time & feel the trauma, humiliation, radation my husband & I went through.

Since finding Rip-off Reports & all the stories similar to ours, I've allowed to let my mind run wild, imagining the creatons at Fairbanks stripped of their jobs, losing their homes, behind bars!!! Plus it has been a bit theraputic to tell all my woes to this website! Thanks!

If anyone knows of anything further that can be done, I'm open to advice & I'm well-rested now!

Beth
