I too, was a manager for FDS, I am currently part of the overtime lawsuit against the company. The lawsuit, I am told, is proceeding this summer in court in Washington DC, perhaps,... after all is settled, you present managers will get some relief from all the unfair.. unpaid overtime. There is also a second lawsuit in the works... it seems... the female managers were paid far less than the male managers. This new lawsuit is just in the beginning stages. Very prominent attornies are handling both cases.

My fellow Family Dollar people.... what a joke. After unlaoding hundreds of trucks the recieving door flies off the "bungee-cord" and slams me in the back knocking me to the floor. I was given can you imagine as a manager "light duty" not lifting anything over 5lbs.(ha-ha) and no longer than 15 min at a time on my feet. Now you know AI was never accomadated and it never got called into the home office. Now how are you supposed to follow the doctors instructions when your DM does not back you in payroll, and manpower, sickpay or let alone time off????? I am a Certified Trainer up for promotion I was highly reccomended and transferred to El Paso being what is called a floater or trouble shooter if it was broke I could fix it... I was placed in a base store and began to meet the Region Supervisors next in line for possible DM.... (wow) then while lifting a large new black tote which was supposed to have clothing in it from a stack of 5 it was full of HBA. Took me to the ground messed my back up again and even worse. This happened in October last year. Family Dollar you know Travelers is fighting me all the way I am 15% disabled not working no more ESPP, no more 401k and the dang short term-long term insurance is refusing me. I have exhausted all my savings and nest egg. Have a son in OCU in oklahoma and I am dead broke. Texas Compensation is hell here and I would like to know where to turn. To top it all off I paid out of my own pocket all my insurance up until the company said they had recieved information that I was no longer wanting to be employed by them. What a joke when youdedicater yourself, loyal to the bone, press for loss prevention in your store and are willing to do what it takes to be a ANY TIME 5 store. I need some direction and if possible a class action with other managers who faithfully put in 70 plus hours a week to be kicked to the curb... I don't think so. Someone help me please. Firewoman (oklahoma, witchita falls, and el paso)

Hi Nancy! The group you need to look up is at [DELETED] Rip-off Report. [Place your comments below and be sure to include your FULL contact information so Rip-off Report can contact you.] Talking about this issues with FDS is very good therapy to be sure...but in working together we have the potential to actually make a difference. Thanks and be well,
