Family Dollar ripoff The very worst company to work for! Charlotte North Carolina
I am a former Family Dollar employee also. I was amazed at all the reports on this "company". I thought the problems i experienced were related to the disrict i was in but i see this is happening everywhere. I managed 2 different stores and was with them for nearly 6 years. No matter how hard you work for Family Dollar,it is never enough. The company has no respect for anyone working below the District Manager level. And the DMs are a bunch of losers! One DM in the Jamestown area quit 7 times,was reported for working 12 hours per week as a store manager then was promoted to District Manager.See the qualifications there? I requested a transfer and ended up with a DM who was an alcoholic and displayed frequent temper tantrums and his assistant DM is a former DM that nearly got fired at one point for sleeping with a store manager in Springville. The district i worked in was rated the worst in the chain,yet they continue to keep the same lame DM's. Any attempts to report this were IGNORED by the home office. Calls to the Regional Manager were not returned. When an employee leaves after 6 years, the company should ASK WHY! I worked VERY hard for this company. I worked many hours without pay. Never got a lunch break. Went by the company schedule which put me working Alone . I unloaded trucks by myself because of no payroll. I couldnt even use the bathroom for gods sake. When you are there by yourself and busy,you cant run in the back. I was a good manager but always made to feel that everything i did wasnt good enough. I stayed because i enjoyed the positive comments from customers. they appreciated my hard work even though the company did not!
